SECURITY TOOLS
Has your password been breached?
Check whether a password has appeared in a known data breach, without it ever leaving your browser.
🔒 Your password never leaves your browser. Only the first 5 characters of a one-way fingerprint (SHA-1 hash) are sent to Have I Been Pwned, and the match is done on your device.
How it stays private
Your password is turned into a one-way SHA-1 fingerprint on your device. Only the first 5 characters of that fingerprint are sent to Have I Been Pwned, which sends back hundreds of possible matches for your browser to check.
If it has been breached
Stop using it everywhere straight away, starting with email and Microsoft 365. Breached passwords are the first thing attackers try, using automated tools.
Better passwords
Use a long passphrase or a password manager, a different password for every account, and multi-factor authentication on anything important.
